Judy Amena’s Success Story

Judy Amena’s Success Story

Sandy’s new mom eagerly admits that her happiest memory of adoption day was the way Sandy, formerly known as Judy Amena, smiled when she got into their car. She just seemed so happy!

And Sandy’s never happier than when she’s doing what she loves most. She LOVES playing with her golden sister and her cats. She LOVES chasing a laser, playing fetch with a tennis ball and doing puzzles for treats. She also LOVES running zoomies round and round in the backyard.

Among Sandy’s most endearing idiosyncrasies — and guaranteed to make her mom smile — is watching Sandy and her sister play. Seeing Sandy’s excitement both when she’s getting special treats ready and when she comes home, even if she’s only been gone for half an hour. The way Sandy lies in the bed on the floor next to her while she’s working.

Sandy derives the greatest pleasure from chasing light! Whether it’s the light from a laser, a reflection from the sun or from the vacuum, she’ll cheerfully chase it and chase it while vigorously wagging her tail. She also loves ice cubes and simply must have one any time her mom opens the freezer.

All plans for a vacation, however, were temporarily put on hold because of Hurricane Milton. Since their house was affected, they were evacuated to a hotel, where, sadly, Sandy’s sunniness was replaced by fear. She was so fearful of the elevator that she had to be carried on and off each time she and her sister were taken out. The one bright spot and saving grace, though, was when Sandy took part in an Easter egg hunt for dogs, which she loved!

Special in so many ways, Sandy is funny and fun to be with. She’s always happy and wagging her tail. She has never met a person she didn’t like. When “Lady and the Tramp” was recently shown on TV, she watched it intently. Put all of this together and her ecstatic mom delightedly declares, “I’m just so thankful that Sandy came into my life!”
