13th Annual HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Walk-a-Thon & Canine Costume Contest

Save the date to join us at the Franklin’s Friends 13th Annual HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Walk-a-Thon and Canine Costume Contest on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Cranes Roost Park in Uptown Altamonte f

Stop by our tent to meet our central volunteers and our GRRMF Hearts of Gold dog therapy teams. Learn about our organization, dog care and purchase one of our beautiful 2027 GRRMF calendars.  We do not bring any adoptable dogs to any of our events as they are safely tucked away in their loving foster homes scattered throughout our area of coverage.

We expect more than 500 animal lovers to join us for this exciting event.

• $20 per person in advance (advance registration closes at 5:00 pm on October 20)
• $25 per person at the door
• Children under 6 are free
• Registration is per person, not per dog and we’d love to have you join us even if you don’t have a dog
• Registration is required for all costume contest competitors, spectators, and walkers
• No retractable leashes please
• There is no extra charge to enter the costume contest but you must sign up in person at the costume contest tent before 10 am to get your bib.
