Volunteer opportunities

Experience the joy of volunteering and making a difference! We need volunteers in key roles to continue our care of our dogs and people in mid-Florida.
Note: All the hours are approximate and dependent upon the number of dogs in our care, scheduled activities and how many volunteers can share the activity to reduce the time needed.
Administration Volunteer Roles
Virtual Roles (from anywhere)
- Applications | WorkFlow Coordinator, 5-8 hours per week
- Manages application flow and status updates across systems
- Notices bottlenecks and flags delays quickly
- Good fit for someone detail-oriented who likes process
- Volunteer Care Team| Training strategy management – 1 – 3 hours per week
- Volunteer Care Team| Training content creator – 3 – 5 hours per week
- Volunteer Care Team| Trainer – 5 hours per month
- Community Outreach | Fundraising Coordinator, 5 hours per month
- Media | WordPress/Web Workflow Coordinator, 5 hours per week
Local Roles (Florida Resident)
- Community Outreach Team | Central Events Leader – 5 hours per month, plus Saturday event schedule coverage from September through April
- Community Outreach Team | North West Events Leader – 5 hours per month, plus Saturday event schedule coverage from September through April
Behind the Scenes Administrative Support Volunteer Roles
Virtual
- Community Outreach | Hearts of Gold Admins, 5 hours per week
- Community Outreach | Friend-raising Admins, 5 hours per week
- Volunteer Care Team | Recruiting Admin, 2 hours per week
- Media | Photo Librarian – 3-5 hours a week. Can be also aligned to certain days of the week.
Public Interfacing Volunteer Roles
Virtual
- Adoptions | Post Adoption follow up calls, 5-8 hours per month
- Intake | Intake Liaison supporting new dog arrivals, 5-10 hours per week
- Applications | Phone Screen interviews, 5-8 hours a month
- Applications | Virtual Home Visits using Zoom or Facetime, 5 hours per month
Local (Florida Resident)
- Applications | In-Home Visits, 5 hours per month (Melbourne, Orlando and surrounding communities, Tampa/St. Pete, Gainesville)
- Community Outreach | Friend-raising Ambassadors Central FL , 5 hours per month October – April typically on Saturdays.
- Transport | Transports, 3 hours per month – weekday mornings critical need Tampa/St. Pete, Orlando
Advanced Technology Support Volunteer Roles
Virtual
- Media | Social Media Support, 5 hours per week (multiple positions/days/times available)
- Media | Media library support, 2-5 hours per week
- Media | WordPress support 1-2 hours per week
- Business Operations | Technical Support Help Desk, as needed
- Business Operations | Technical Support Metrics, 3-5 hours per month
- Business Operations | AI technology support, 4-6 hours per month
