Found out about GRRMF:
We had just learned our beloved golden did not have much time left with us due to illness and discovered GRRMF through volunteers at a PetSmart event. After we lost him, I went to the GRRMF website and saw a story about
Ruby and her eight puppies. We filled out the application online and received a phone call for a home visit. The next thing we knew, we were on our way to the foster family to pick up our new puppy, Chance. Little did we know that this adorable pup would grow up to be a showstopping very big boy, filled to the brim with pure love.
Continued Commitment:
We stopped by a GRRMF booth during a pet event and started talking to them about how we adopted one of their dogs and were asked if we would like to start volunteering with our boy Chance. This is where it all started! We love that we can share our dog’s love with so many people. Being very tall, he attracts a lot of attention. We have continued to volunteer from that day forward and now Bella, our second GRRMF rescue, has joined Chance as
a certified therapy dog.
Most Memorable Moment:
The one time that made me feel so warm inside was when we were at Regal Palms Memory Center. There was a sweet lady who was not having a very good day. Chance felt it and went right over to give her some comfort. She hugged him and immediate smiles came over her! That is why I love doing therapy visits so much!
Advice to Potential Volunteer: Try it, you will not regret the rewarding feeling that you receive.
