My name is Carol Forsberg. I’ve been a member of GRRMF’s community outreach and administration since 2004, when I saw a car magnet with GRRMF’s name on it.

My Journey:

My favorite time volunteering was when I fostered and transported dogs. Every dog has a story to tell and a lesson to teach – from rambunctious pups to snuggly seniors. One of my senior fosters became my heartbeat, and I was blessed to be able to adopt her; her official adoption day is my most memorable moment.

Now as board president, I get to watch our passionate, compassionate volunteers combine their diverse skill set to ensure the safety and love of the dogs – people – we touch. Seeing the rescue dogs we save, heal, and connect with wonderful families is one of the best feelings in the world. The same to watching our Hearts of Gold therapy teams in action, providing comfort to the people in our communities.

Advice for Potential Volunteers:

Raise your paw! It takes a village, and each role is so important for the lifeline of dogs and people in need. We can’t do it without you. You can volunteer from your home anywhere with the technology solutions today. Join us and make a difference you never knew you could.
