The GRRMF Village – Community Outreach

Community Outreach Volunteers

GRRMF Community Services in action!

We have a dedicated team of volunteers who share their knowledge of GRRMF with our Mid-Florida communities through various services…Friendraising, Fundraising and our Hearts of Gold therapy dog program.  Flash back to 2020 when our communities closed due to the pandemic.  That did not stop our Hearts of Gold team from coming up with creative ways through photos, cards and YouTube videos to stay in touch with their cherished assisted living facilities, schools and hospitals.  Our friendraising/education teams who could not reach out to community partners for on-site event festivities did reach out to veterinarians in Florida to increase awareness of our rescue services should they need to refer a client to us for assistance.

Our AKC accredited GRRMF Hearts of Gold program shares the joy of therapy visit passion with so many people in need of furry love and comfort  in our mid-Florida communities.  We have a special area on our website dedicated to  our wonderful non-traditional rescue program launched in January 2019.  Here is the home page link for more information. https://www.grrmf.org/grrmf-hearts-of-gold-therapy-team/

Our Friendraising team shares news and education about our rescue, dog care and has our talented volunteers and their ambassador dogs with paws on the ground supporting our local community needs at local events. Our active season is October – March due to the Florida climate. We hope you may have an interest in becoming an event volunteer to share the good news story of GRRMF with new friends we meet at these events. We need more help in The Villages, Orlando, Tampa/St. Petersburg and Melbourne areas.

Fundraising focus continues in three areas for this team; Grants, the global virtual event Giving Tuesday and our east coast event Jupiter Golden Jubilee where 100 or more goldens gather for dinner and a morning frolicking on the beach!  Our teams donate a significant investment of time and talent to ensure these activities  achieve our Woody medical fund replenishment goals to prepare for each challenging year with the ever rising care expense for our dogs in need. A  huge paws up and thank you to all who contributed to these events which continue to sustain us this year!
