Zeus’ mom’s happiest memory of adoption day was the sheer excitement she felt at starting a new adventure with her new best friend. She had long prayed for just the right golden, and she firmly believes that the Lord lead her to Zeus.
In fact, she knew the moment she saw him on the GRRMF website that Zeus was the one. And she’s admittedly overwhelmed with thanksgiving that this blond angel came into their lives.
What she loves most about Zeus is that he’s up for any and all adventures. He LOVES taking rides in the car and going on vacations with the family. Whenever this gregarious golden can ride in a car with the windows cracked and his ears flying, he’s one deliriously happy boy! His favorite of all four trips was when they spent Christmas at Rosen Shingle Creek where he was the center of attention the entire time.
Famous for being a “self-walker,” Zeus makes his mom laugh by unabashedly taking his leash in his mouth and leading his family in the direction that he wants to go. While he’s not much of a pool pup, he loves the beach, walking gradually into the surf and getting his paws wet. But, truth be told, as long as everyone’s together as a family, including simply watching TV, Zeus is completely content.
Three of his most endearing traits are: the way he loves to give everyone the “side-eye” or what his family calls “being judgy.” Described as “food motivated” by his wonderful foster, he’s lightning swift, despite advanced hip dysplasia, when he hears the fridge door open. Then there are his facial expressions: Zeus is a master of manipulation, using those beautiful brown eyes and expressive eyebrows for maximum effect.
Now Zeus and his mom are working toward their goal of being a dog/handler team for GRRMF Hearts of Gold! To say that his mom is elated is putting it mildly.
