On adoption day, Scooter’s forever family celebrated with ice cream, secure in the knowledge that he would be staying with them for the rest of his life. To say that Scooter LOVES running would be an understatement, and understandably so. When he first arrived, he was extremely overweight at 95 pounds, and suffered from such severe hip dysplasia and arthritis that he could barely walk. Now he weighs a healthy 65 pounds and, after having had his hips surgically corrected, he RUNS around the yard and does ever so zealous zoomies every time he’s outside.
Passionate about living and loving, Scooter loves attention from anyone and everyone. Whenever he sees people during their walks, he “insists” that they pet him, making him something of a legend in the neighborhood. He loves pulling up weeds and grass, digging holes in the garden and chasing critters down gopher holes when he can. (He must have been a farm dog in his past life!).
His mom readily admits that it warms her heart to see him running around the yard. She loves his boundless joy, unbridled enthusiasm, and the happy, goofy look on his face as he dashes delightedly about. She laughs, though, when she mentions Scooter’s stubborn streak. If he doesn’t want to do something, he anchors his bottom to the ground and refuses to budge. Then he smirks as if to say, “Go ahead, try to move me. I dare you.” His favorite toys are a glow in the dark ball and an elephant stuffy. Scooter’s not the least bit in favor of swimming in his grandparents’ pool when the family visits them.
