Lexi Mona’s Success Story

Lexi Mona’s Success Story

This beautiful girl is walking on sunshine and it does feel good!  Lexi Mona has been renamed Lexi Sunshine because she brightens the life of her new family.   Lexi arrived at GRRMF scared and confused.  Her original owners couldn’t care for anymore, but she didn’t understand that.  Lexi needed someone who could look beyond her shyness and fear.  And that’s just what she found with her new loving Mom, “I knew underneath that somewhat frightened exterior there was a beautiful soul who wanted someone to help her become the best girl ever,” reports Bambi.

Lexi Sunshine now has three canine siblings to wrestle with… to run around with… to go on long walks with.  She always has an infectious wide grin on her face, smiling from ear to ear.  When it’s time for a car ride – which she loves – Lexi is the first one in and the last one out.  Her mom says, “Lexi is so full of joy and she expresses this joy by laying on her back for belly rubs, then running through the house with a case of the happy zoomies!”  Lexi is a very devoted ‘mother’ as well.  You’ll usually find her with a stuffed baby doll toy in her mouth.

Lexi and her Mom wanted to give back to the community, so together they’ve taken classes and Lexi is now a certified therapy dog with Project PUP and GRRMF Hearts of Gold.  Both mom and pooch find it so rewarding.  Lexi’s favorite place to visit is on the campus of USF in St. Petersburg.

Lexi’s new family opened their hearts, giving her a second chance at a loving home.  Her mom sums it up perfectly, “Lexi truly is a beautiful soul and every day with her is a delight.”
