Legacy Dog – Mango’s Success Story

Legacy Dog – Mango’s Success Story

From 2007

Little did Amy and her husband know that when they adopted 16-month-old Mango (formerly Chloe) in July 2007 they were adopting a future “cover girl” who graced many GRRMF pages through the years.

“She has brought us so much joy,” says Amy. “We love her so much and we were so happy to have her join our family, and although she’s not big on snuggles, she always wants to be near us. She also makes instant friends wherever she goes with her sweet and patient personality.

“She’s always loved being outside and napping beneath our mango trees, and because she’s always adored the water, she’s loved swimming in the pool and taking occasional trips to a dog beach. Always an eager explorer and adventurer, passionate about boating, long walks and hiking, she’s accompanied us on numerous trips to parks and beaches. I brought her to Georgia with me once in the fall and we hiked for six miles through the forest. She loved playing in the fallen leaves.

“Six months after adopting Mango, we adopted a young cat. To her credit, she’s always been so gentle and so patient with her, even letting her sleep in her bed and drink from her water bowl. For her part, our kitty is so affectionate with Mango, which often annoys her, but Mango patiently puts up with her. And when our son was born in 2011, Mango was so gentle and so sweet with him, and she still is.

“Now, at the age of 15, she’s naturally slowed down. She still enjoys the occasional trip to a dog beach and swimming in our pool, but her favorite activity now is napping in the shade beneath the mango trees in our backyard.

“We feel so fortunate to have Mango in our lives and we’ll ensure that her golden years are the best years possible. We have so many wonderful memories to cherish forever.”
