Katie and Camden’s happiest memory of adoption day was when they walked into Kirby’s foster home. No sooner had they entered than he ran up to them as though they had been best friends for years, and lay across their laps the moment they sat down!
While Kirby loves going for walks around the neighborhood, he won’t leave the house until he chooses a toy (a stuffed alligator is his favorite) from his toy bin to carry with him. He not only enjoys meeting new people and other dogs during their walks, he regularly receives either a smile or a laugh from the people they pass.
“Kirby’s not big on personal space,” admits Katie. “No matter where you sit on the couch or bed, he will immediately sit next to you or on top of you! Nothing beats a Kirby snuggle.”
Where vacations are concerned, Kirby accompanied his parents to the beach, and absolutely loved it. He “ran them” up and down the beach until he finally plopped down for a rest – as did they. They also brought him to Fort Wilderness at Disney where he received a special pin for his first visit.
The first of Kirby’s most endearing traits, according to Katie, is his friendliness. He’s never met a person or animal he hasn’t wanted to befriend. They have to gently pull him along when he wants to greet and play with clearly disinterested cats during their walks. Second is his protectiveness. Although he wouldn’t hurt the proverbial fly, Kirby is always looking out for and protecting their son. Third is his joyfulness. Kirby is a beacon of light in their home. No matter how rough their day might have been, walking in and having him rush them at the door to receive pets and give kisses makes the 
day’s worries fall away. “We love Kirby,” says Camden, “and are blessed to have him in our lives.”
Kirby is the “Chief Pets Officer” for Camden’s HVAC business in Tampa (Varsity Zone HVAC of Tampa). He’s always promoting the company on social media and ensuring that every customer and/or visitor receives a warm Kirby welcome!
