A home with a close-knit family, a friendly collie, and adorable cats? For GRRMF rescue pup Ellie (fka as Delta), she knew she hit the jackpot! Ellie’s parents have a very fond memory of riding in the car on the way home after adopting her, seeing how happy Ellie was immediately. Ellie rode in the backseat with the kids, and it was evident that she knew she was already a beloved member of the clan.
Ellie especially enjoys playing with Maggie the collie. As she’s about twice Maggie’s size, Ellie makes sure to be gentle, intentionally lying down while they are fun-wrestling to make it a more even playing field. For her part, Maggie has taught Ellie that the garbage and recycling cans are scary and must be barked at when they are taken out to the curb.
Ellie smiles with her whole face and often wiggles with glee, especially after picking up something from the floor. Whether a shoe, paper, or Lego, she will happily parade around with her find, though she’s fairly good when told to drop the object. She’s already on her fourth Lamp Chop, as she wears out her favorite stuffed animal by randomly walking around with it in her mouth. Ellie also totally loves ice! Anytime she hears the ice maker dispenser, she comes running to patiently wait for a few ice cubes to come her way. She’s very good at catching them if they are tossed near her.
And what an amazing cuddler! Ellie has her special spot on the bed where she sleeps at night. In the morning, Ellie is overjoyed when her humans wake up. Her tail starts going and she buries her head for a good snuggle before getting up. Ellie then runs right for the cabinet where treats are kept because she knows she gets a chew to keep her busy while the family gets ready for the day. Ellie also has her favorite cat, Weber, with whom she loves being close during the day.
For Ellie, dreams do come true. She has found her ideal situation, with family and furry friends to love and who adore her in return.
