Wilson is a sweet 3 1/2 year old Golden who absolutely loves the outdoors. Running around in the backyard is one of his favorite activities. He’s great at catching a Frisbee, and he loves to go for walks and explore. Wilson deserves the title Lizard Hunter Extraordinaire. He loves to hunt lizards and has actually managed to catch one!

Wilson landed in the rescue when his previous owner could no longer take care of him, but he made himself right at home with his new foster family and curled up in bed with them on the very first night. He woke up his foster mom the next morning with kisses and smiled and snuggled closer once he saw that she was awake.

This lovable boy enjoys belly rubs and will stretch out and soak up the attention for as long as he can. He’s very affectionate and loves to be cuddled. He gets along well with everyone in the family. It took him a few days to get used to the other dogs in the home but he quickly became friends with them. He hasn’t joined them in the swimming pool yet but he likes to stand at the edge of the water and play with the pool toys while his foster siblings swim.

Although he prefers to spend time playing with you, Wilson is independent enough that he doesn’t mind sleeping in a separate room on his own. He is not a fan of thunderstorms and will climb on the couch and hide his head in the cushions at the sound of thunder. He takes anxiety medication to help him feel more comfortable during storms. He is also terrified of being crated. His foster mom is working to teach him the crate is a safe place by putting treats and his favorite toys in it, but he is still fearful of it.

Wilson truly flourishes when praised and rewarded for doing the right thing. He already knows several commands. The only one he’s still learning is “come”, and his foster mom is working with him to make sure he follows the command even when he’s having so much fun playing outside that he’d like to stay out there instead. He does very well with the other commands, and when Wilson hears the “down” command, he has an adorable reaction – all four legs pop out at once and he plops to the floor!

Wilson is a sweet young boy who is looking for a forever family to play with him and spoil him with belly rubs!
