Whiskey is paws-itively wonderful!
Whiskey and Anne cherish their visits to Sable Palms, spending time in the pediatric, assisted living and memory care units. The residents and staff are always happy to see them, and Whiskey loves brightening their days with her affection and sweet personality.
They also visit Arden Courts, a memory care community, where their visits are always a hit thanks to the smiles Whiskey brings the residents. Then there’s Pawsome Readers, where children of all ages meet, pet and sit with therapy dogs in a relaxed environment. Whether it’s helping a child build confidence while reading or sharing some love and companionship, Whiskey makes every visit special.
On one of the team’s first visits to a memory care facility, they met a resident who was so grateful to have a visitor and spend time with Whiskey that she began crying tears of joy. She thanked them repeatedly for coming and kept hugging Whiskey and showering her with love and affection. It was an incredibly touching moment that Anne will never forget.
At home, Whiskey takes full advantage of the family pool, patiently sitting by the steps and awaiting permission to go swimming. She may be a natural at bringing comfort and joy to others, but she’s also a water-loving girl who knows exactly how to enjoy her downtime!
Whiskey, with her keen sense for knowing who needs an emotional boost, is always ready to offer a paw, share a few kisses or scoot her tail over for a good scratch. Also endearing to Anne is how much Whiskey loves hearing her say, “Time to go to work,” whereupon she heads to the front door, excited and ready to go. Not to mention how much Whiskey truly loves being around people and sharing her affection with everyone she meets.
Another memorable moment for Anne was when the team visited the pediatric floor at Sable Palms. Whiskey sat beside a baby boy in a walker, and his excitement at seeing a dog was contagious. He banged on his tray, kicked his feet and laughed uncontrollably, filling the hallway with the sweetest sound and luring out curious staff members. They were deeply touched by the baby’s pure joy and so grateful for Whiskey’s comforting presence.
