Some dogs are born athletes, and Tug is definitely one of them. If there’s a ball nearby, Tug is ready to play. Whether it’s a tennis ball, a squeaky ball, or anything in between, he’ll happily chase it. His enthusiasm is contagious and watching him light up during a game is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
Tug is much more than a talented athlete. He’s a sweet, sensitive soul who is learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. In his foster home, Tug has shown just how much love he has to give. He gets along wonderfully with another dog and happily shares toys and food with his canine best friend. He’s the kind of dog who enjoys companionship and thrives when surrounded by trusted friends.
Tug has a few challenges he’s working through. Car rides, thunderstorms, loud noises, and unfamiliar situations can make him nervous. When he feels unsure, he looks to the people he trusts for comfort and reassurance. The good news is that Tug is making progress every day as he gains confidence and learns that not everything needs to be scary.
Once Tug bonds with someone, that connection runs deep. He loves being close to his foster family and is happiest when he’s near the people he trusts. New faces can be intimidating at first, and he may bark when meeting strangers, but with a gentle introduction and a little patience, Tug begins to relax and reveal his affectionate, loving personality.
Tug is house-trained and walks nicely on a leash. Because he can become startled in stressful situations, a secure leash and attentive handling are important to help him feel safe and confident while exploring the world.
When you adopt Tug, you will welcome a loyal companion who is ready to continue his journey with people who believe in him. He needs patience, understanding, and a family that will celebrate every small victory along the way. In return, he’ll reward them with unwavering loyalty, endless games of fetch, and the special bond that comes from earning the trust of a dog who truly appreciates being loved.
Tug’s adoption cost is $650 which helps defray the average $2000 expense per dog in our rescue. Click here to learn about our adoption process.
