Rainbow Bridge – 7/13/24 – Fly free sweet Simba.
Simba, like his adult Disney namesake, is a kind and gentle Golden with regal good looks. His nickname of “Sweet Boy” says it all and makes him such a favorite during his therapy work. Simba visits schools, colleges, and libraries, and is always ready to make a guest appearance at public events.
When Simba enters a room, he instantly provides a calm and friendly presence that brightens everyone’s day. His loving hugs and happy demeanor seem to bring out the best in all that he meets, especially at nursing homes. For example, some residents will start chatting with Simba even though they have not spoken to others in quite a while. Even during his “off” time, Simba shares the love. During one of his walks, a woman stopped her car just to receive one of his special hugs!
At home, Simba dials up the fun. He loves chasing squirrels, playing with his favorite toy Lambchop, and learning new tricks. A true Golden, Simba also possesses a keen nose for his favorite foods, such as Honey Nut Cheerios, and maintains an ear out for any refrigerator openings that might signal a cheese snack. Simba never forgets anyone who hands out treats! But he also continues to be a love bug and relishes cuddling tightly against his human’s chest. Pets make him melt in a puddle.
For Simba, it is all about giving and receiving love. Looking after others and making them feel better is the lion’s share of his life’s purpose, and we are all the lucky beneficiaries of that.
