One look at Silas and those big brown eyes – how can your heart not melt? Silas is a golden retriever / cocker spaniel mix who came to us when his owner unfortunately passed away. Since being at his foster, Silas has demonstrated his deep ability to love and desire to be loved – following foster mom around, always sitting near her, and showing his affection by putting his head in her lap when they’re next to each other. He’s proven to be loving with children of all ages and adores treats and his food – counter surfer alert! Cowabunga.
Silas would probably do best as the only dog in the house, as he demonstrates the desire to be top dog with his current 2 foster dog siblings. As far as house manners go, however, Silas is getting crate trained and is recommended to be left in his crate when unattended at home. He seems to know or be learning basic commands quickly, being treat-motivated and eager to please. Silas has taken to his stuffed animals as favorite toys and not surprisingly squirrels are his favorite thing to chase, being also fluffy and squeaky. If you are looking for a sweet golden boy who will shower you with affection and attention, look no further.
