Hi, I’m Duke! I am very sweet and a perfect gentleman, and I love to be near my humans! Watch Duke trot along in his foster’s backyard.

I’m adjusting to things here in my foster home and love being with my foster siblings. I can’t get enough affection and will sit up and beg when I want some chin scratches. Once I get them, I enjoy them fully and show it by closing my eyes and smiling! My other sweet spots are my shoulders and back. I stick close to my foster mom, and she’s learned to look before she backs up! I’m a big supporter of our first responders and will give a big ‘awooo’ in solidarity with them when they are driving down the street with their sirens on. Another favorite game of mine is chasing lizards! I never go through a door before my foster mom does, which is why she calls me a perfect gentleman. She also says that I am very polite and patient.

I’m currently using a treatment shampoo to restore the looks you might expect from a Duke, but I’m still pretty handsome! My leash skills need work, but I am currently working with a trainer to get more comfortable so that I can enjoy walks to the fullest! I do sleep in a crate, but my foster mom is hoping to replace it with a dog bed soon and I do not need to be in it otherwise. I do tend to be nervous and unsure in new situations and with new things, but my trainer and foster mom are helping me to become more confident! My sweet and gentlemanly personality is sure to win over your heart!
