According to Rufus’ foster dad, “Rufus and Lily are so much fun!” As they’ve lost weight they both have become more active. Their walks are getting longer and both have great leash manners.  They’ve learned the wait command and actually listen! Rufus and Lily will both calmly sit until the ok command has been given. Remember they are still seniors, so nap time is also important and they enjoy that as well. Rufus and Lily would be perfect companions for a family that enjoys strolls, gentle play time, and of course love and kisses!

Rufus is doing great in his foster home. He’s learning new commands and since losing some weight, his walks are getting longer. Pull out a rope toy and Rufus is in for a good game of tug-of-war. If one of his foster parents isn’t around to play with him, Rufus and his bonded sister, Lily, will happily play with each other. They also enjoy chasing each other around the backyard for a little while too. What a good boy!

As you can see, Rufus is not a golden retriever, but he does have a golden heart.

Rufus & Lily were living a happy life with their beloved owners. For 10 years they were doted on, played with, and cherished by a retired couple. Sadly, life is unpredictable and when the wife passed away, the husband could no longer care for their best friends. Heartbreakingly, he decided to let GRRMF find his favorite pair a second loving home.

Get ready for plenty of doggy kisses because Rufus is a real lover! A big chocolate fur ball, Rufus likes to follow his foster parents around the house. Not so much as a Velcro dog, more so to be close at hand to receive his much-loved ear scratches.

Besides getting petted, he looks forward to car rides and short walks. He even sits regally while his foster dad puts on his harness. No need for a crate either, Rufus has perfect house manners and is very laid back and calm. He would be great with children too.

Rufus has love to share with a new family. Bonded with his sister Lily, these two would turn any house into a happy home. If you’re looking for a soft and cuddly loving companion, consider two!
