Rio is one of the sweetest golden retrievers you will ever meet! He has a warm and calm disposition and is a gentle sweetheart who enjoys getting petted. And Rio will never say ‘no’ to a good belly rub! At eight years old, he still has puppy energy. He would love to be your best buddy on your journey in life.
Rio accepts strangers easily and loves to meet new people. He gets along well with children and has lived with three in his previous owner’s home. Rio also gets along well dogs, but we are not sure about cats–at least not yet!
Rio enjoys everything about life: his stuffed toys, playing fetch with a tennis ball, walking on a leash, and being wrapped in warm blankets. And he knows his commands: sit, paw, fetch, and lie down. And this perfect boy never barks or begs.
Rio is house trained and just needs to go out a few times a day or on a walk a couple times a day. In addition, he has been trained not to get up on the furniture. It is best not to give him table scraps, and to just stick with his own healthy dog food. He gets excited when he sees people and wants to hug them, so he needs to learn that ‘four on the floor’ still gets him all the love!
