This team visits rehabilitation facilities, Ronald McDonald House and attends events for local seniors and foster families. Pop-Tart loves spreading smiles everywhere she goes, but, being young and energetic, she especially enjoys working with equally energetic youngsters.

Their favorite visit involved Intergenerational Community Day at the Miller Elder Law Firm, an event dedicated to local foster families and seniors. They had their own room with a steady stream of adults and children stopping by. Pop-Tart, who adored the attention, loved greeting the youngsters, while Brienne reveled in the joy she brought them at such a crucial time in their lives.

Attending this event was a young boy who had recently been adopted. He felt a special connection to GRRMF since we place dogs with loving families, something he himself had experienced. He not only loved Pop-Tart, he stayed by her side, acted as her “ambassador,” and taught the other children how to properly pet and interact with her.

When she’s not working, Pop-Tart loves walking around the neighborhood, greeting the neighbors, many of whom know her by name. Then she stops by the leasing office for her usual cookie. She also loves swimming in the ocean, swimming and diving into the family pool to retrieve her bumper, learning new tricks and attending group-training classes.

She often puts herself between her parents’ legs for pets and butt rubs, and loves when her dad gives her “cheese rain” — sprinkling shredded cheese over her head while she “chomps” it out of the air! But what makes her parents smile most are the little grunting noises she makes when she’s happy.

“Now we’re looking forward to attending a wider variety of events,” Brienne says. “I think Pop-Tart would love visiting the University of Florida.”
