Light colored golden laying on a tan rug with an orange carrot toy under their front paw.Don’t wait to bring this handsome guy home! Oscar is a smart, happy, playful boy who is ready to become part of your family.

Oscar is good with children and other dogs, and he loves nothing more than having fun with his favorite people. Challenge him to a game of tug-of-war with his plush toys, and he’s all in, but nothing beats a good old-fashioned game of fetch. Toss a ball across the yard and Oscar will happily bring it right back, ready for another round.

This boy can fall asleep just about anywhere! He even enjoys snoozing in his crate as long as the door is left open. Oscar doesn’t like feeling confined behind a closed crate door, so a baby gate works best when he needs to stay in one area.

Oscar isn’t exactly a Velcro dog, but when something scary happens—like fireworks—he feels safest with his humans. He’s a sweet snuggler when he wants some reassurance, but he’s also wonderfully independent. If you get up while Oscar is napping, don’t expect him to follow. You will find him happily snoozing right where you left him!

Oscar is also a great walking companion. He walks nicely on a leash, responds to his name, and already knows sit and shake. He’ll even ring a bell when he needs to go outside. What a smart boy!

Oscar does have one little habit that needs some work: he’s an all-star counter surfer. So far, he hasn’t stolen any food, but his curiosity gets the better of him, and he likes to jump up for a look at what’s happening on the counter. With his intelligence and willingness to learn, he’ll catch on quickly with some patient training.

Oscar is playful, affectionate, smart, and full of personality. He’s ready for a family who will appreciate his goofy side, keep him engaged, and give him the love and guidance he deserves.

Oscar’s adoption cost is $850. Learn about our adoption process here.
