WE NEED YOUR HELP TO HELP MAHA!
Expenses for Maha to date: $1,000
I want to help Maha get well and play with her foster siblings!
This delightful girl was given up after 9 years with her family because her owners’ lives became too busy to keep her. Sweet Maha was anxious when she first arrived at her foster home, but she warmed up to her foster dad and foster siblings in no time! She continues to be a little nervous in new situations, but will snuggle up to her new family for encouragement. Being quite the girl, we have heard that Maha understands French, so no talking in French behind her back!!!
Maha loves to play, both with toys and with her foster siblings! They love her too and are as eager to play with her as she is with them. But unfortunately, Maha has been diagnosed as HW+, this means that for the next 3 months she will have to sit by and watch her foster siblings play without her. Her treatment will not be cheap, and keeping her quiet will not be easy, but it’s what must be done in order for her heart worm treatment to work without causing any undue strain on her heart.
Get ready for soggy dog toys! Maha enjoys her toys and dropping them into her water bowl. She enjoys being around her humans but will also go off by herself when she needs alone time.
Maha has a skin infection that is also being treated with medicated baths twice a week and antibiotics. Once the infection is cleared, the vet said only then will she begin her heartworm treatment. So for poor Maha the 3 months of heartworm treatment hasn’t started, she has such a long road ahead of her!
Maha is a very good girl and knows all of her basic commands, such as sit and stay, and she is so well behaved, said her foster parents. This house broken cutie pie will let her humans know when she needs to go outside to do her business. She is crate trained due to her need to reduce activity because of her heartworm.
Stay tuned for additional updates on this pretty and playful girl!
