Maggie is a gentle, affectionate golden retriever with a heart full of love. She enjoys belly rubs, car rides, and being pampered during grooming sessions. Wherever you are, she is happiest nearby. While she isn’t a Velcro dog, she loves spending time with her people and is equally content relaxing in the same room or quietly lounging elsewhere in the house.
She has wonderful house manners. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and does not require crating when left alone. She knows sit, down, and come, although she sometimes likes to decide when it’s the perfect time to listen! She takes treats with an incredibly gentle mouth, making every interaction a reminder of just how kind she is.
She is friendly with other dogs and has settled in comfortably with her foster family’s Australian Labradoodle. She also has experience living with cats and gets along with them very well. She recently met a teenage visitor and happily rolled over for belly rubs after just a few minutes, showing how much she enjoys gentle affection from people.
One of her favorite activities is riding in the car, and her foster family has been told she also loves to swim. She is a quiet companion who rarely barks, but she will politely let you know when someone arrives at the door.
She is currently adjusting to her new surroundings and continues to build confidence outside the home. Indoors, she is relaxed, happy, and affectionate. Outside, she prefers quick potty breaks before heading back inside and is still learning that walks and new environments can be fun. With patience, encouragement, and a loving family, her confidence continues to grow each day.
