Lele and Handler Jane

Lele and Handler Jane

Poodle called Lele, wearing a Hearts of Gold vest.

Regional Area: North East

Gender: Female

Breed: Havanese

Loving comes easily to Lele.

Lovable little Lele and mom Jane currently visit an assisted living facility and a library.

Jane’s favorite visit to the facility was when they wanted to celebrate Lele. And celebrate they did! They threw a birthday party, complete with decorations and ice cream cake for the staff and residents while Lele received special treats and then danced for everyone.

A volunteer holds a poodle next to a decorated tree. When not sporting her therapy vest, Lele enjoys strolling through the neighborhood with Jane visiting various neighbors. What she especially enjoys, though, is her weekly 2- mile walk to check out where other dogs have left their marking spots.

Melting Jane’s heart with her sweet and silly antics, Lele sits up straight like a baby dog and wears assorted costumes and dresses like the good sport she is. She also loves doing her tricks for treats and hunting for crumbs on the floor.

One of their most tender moments occurred when Lele helped a woman who was preparing to pass and the woman’s adult daughter. The woman hugged Lele as if she was greeting her former dogs at Rainbow Bridge. It helped the entire family accept the situation.

As for this compassionate team’s future: meeting even more families and helping them.
