Henry is a handsome boy with a gentle heart and a delightfully goofy personality. He is wonderful with his foster family’s 12- and 14-year-old children, greeting them with cuddles rather than jumping, and he gets along beautifully with their older golden retriever.
The two happily play together and relax side by side. Henry is house-trained, has not needed a crate, and knows several commands, including sit, paw, down, stay—most of the time!—and even the occasional roll over.
Henry is a loving Velcro dog who enjoys following his people around, gazing out the window, playing with toys, and soaking up all the belly rubs he can get. One of his most endearing habits is sitting in front of you with his paw raised, patiently waiting for praise and affection. When he is excited, he bounces and spins, and he may even grab his harness and leash and run off with them when it is time for a walk! He walks well with the leash clipped to the front of his harness, although he can pull a little, and he currently needs some help getting onto furniture or into the car.
His future family should know that he is extremely interested in chasing and searching for lizards. Henry would love a home where he can stay close to his people, receive plenty of cuddles, and continue showing everyone what a sweet, affectionate companion he is.
