READ ALL ABOUT HER! Grace’s foster family gives us some wonderful insight and hope for this sweet, young girl who needs your support and help. Here is their story of Grace (affectionally named Gracie by her foster family):
Amazing Gracie! This precious girl came to GRRMF when her owner had a medical issue that would require surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation. Come to find out, this beautiful golden girl also needs surgery and time to recover to be the healthy four year old she was meant to be.
Gracie arrived at her foster home more than a little anxious and afraid. Understandably, since her whole routine had been turned upside down. All she wanted to do was sit on the couch. Although she had a nice, fenced in backyard to play in, Gracie felt more comfortable being outside on a leash. At a young age of four, she is content with a more laid back lifestyle, relaxing in the A/C – who can blame her with the heat wave we have been having! Gracie has been with us (her foster family) for a week now and is beginning to enjoy the freedom of exploring and getting more confident every day.
Some of the things that bring her joy are meeting new people and looking out the big windows. She greets new friends with spins, wiggles, head bobs and prancing; nobody is a stranger to this social girl. Even when it is raining or too hot to go outside, it’s fun for Gracie to just watch the world go by! There is also nothing better than a rousing game of chase or tug of war with her foster brother.
Gracie is very well mannered and has full access to her foster home at all times. She has her own bed but prefers to cuddle on her foster mom’s bed. She knows all her basic commands and likes to give “high fives”. Gracie thinks car rides are the best and she does very well on a leash, as long as you go where SHE wants to go.
Do you want to know what really makes this girl special? She came into GRRMF with a UTI, ear infection and a bad hip, she also has problems with allergies that are controlled with medication. The UTI and ear infections have responded well to medication and have cleared up. She is scheduled for hip surgery, which hopefully will relieve the pain she is tolerating. Even though her body is in pain and she has been warding off infection, her outward expression shines daily with calmness, joy and AMAZING Grace.
Grace has already overcome some of her conditions with medicine and her happy outlook. But she really needs this hip surgery to live her dreams. GRRMF together with your help, can assist Grace to continue on her path of good health. She will be forever grateful for any help that you can spare and appreciates your love and support.
Thank you for helping the wonderful dogs in our Healing Heats and Sanctuary programs. Your help is their key to a new, healthy and loving life in their forever homes.
