Update on December 30,2019
It’s easy to tell if a dog is naturally smart by how quickly they learn, and in the short time Gigi has been with her foster family she has learned a good deal. Both Gigi and her bonded sister Bella have been getting training weekly and are learning good doggie manners. Her foster dad says he can see a difference already in their demeanor.
Gigi’s personality is laid back and calm. She’s happy just to lounge around with her foster parents, in fact, she sleeps with them at night without any issues. Gigi is shy around strangers, but slowly warms up to them. Then she’s happy to get lots and lots of petting, ear rubs and love!
“Gigi is a sweetheart,” or so her foster dad says. Just look at her beautiful face and you can see it too. But Gigi is a puppy and needs a family willing to take the time to teach her how to be a well-behaved dog. According to her foster dad that shouldn’t be too hard though – he says she’s super smart and learning already!
Gigi is bonded with her sister Bella, another puppy. The two are never far apart and depend on each other. Gigi and Bella love playing together. Like typical siblings, they always want what the other has, and will wrestle around trying to steal the toy. Their foster dad says it’s very cute to watch.
One of our trusted veterinarians believes Gigi and Bella are an Anatolian Shepherd – Golden Retriever mix. Anatolian shepherds are a very old and rare breed. They can trace their roots back thousands of years to hunting and herding dogs in Mesopotamia. Today, Anatolian’s are prized for their intelligence, strength, quick speed and agility, and keen hearing and eyesight. They are natural protectors and extremely loyal. They are large dogs and need a good deal of physical exercise and space to run.
Are you ready for double the doggy love and affection? Then Gigi and Bella are waiting for you!
