This beautiful, happy-go-lucky gal is a friendly love bug who just wants to please. Frankie loves everyone she meets and is friendly to all the dogs she meets on walks. Frankie is house trained and doesn’t need to be crated or isolated when left alone. She loves to run and play, so she would love a home with a fenced yard. Frankie’s hips get a little stiff, so a home without stairs would be helpful, too. We haven’t yet observed her with children, but older kids would be better-suited for this strong girl.
Frankie loves tennis balls and often carries one in her mouth. She like to fetch, but isn’t fond of giving you the ball. She runs for the ball at full speed and then promptly comes back to show you she has it. She won’t drop it yet, but sits and taunts you until you take it to throw it again.
Frankie is doing well with the other dogs in her foster home and is respectful of her foster family’s 20-year-old cat. She loves belly rubs and pets, and made it known on her first night with her foster family. When the three other dogs jumped into bed for some lovin’, Frankie nosed right in for her turn! She then obediently went to the spot her mom pointed to as “hers” and slept soundly there through the night.
Basic commands are a breeze for Frankie, and she’ a quick learner. Frankie likes to follow her foster mom everywhere, and lays at her feet when she’s working. This happy sweetie is a little nervous about thunder and loud noise, but calms quickly when she realizes all is fine.
