Dixie Bell came to GRRMF after her owner could no longer care for her because of personal health issues, she is a low maintenance sweetheart and life companion says her foster mom. Arthritis has set in (but the new medicine is making a wonderful difference) and she is hard of hearing but let her see that leash, she’s up, does her little hop and you better have your walking shoes on! Although short walks, Dixie loves them, as well as hanging out in the backyard and going for car rides. Not a true Velcro dog, she will follow you with her eyes and seems to prefer dad to mom, hanging out in the garage with him.
This gem is of course house broken, doesn’t need a crate, ignores the cat and has wonderful house manners. Although hard of hearing, Dixie is learning some hand signs and her eye sight doesn’t miss a trick or treat! Because of her arthritis, she is not big on being hugged, and can tolerate larger dogs until she’s had her fill, then a low growl informs them she’s had enough. Never a problem with meeting new people though, foster mom says she can spot a person far away and looks forward to all her meet and greets.
Dixie is a sweet ole girl that values her connection to a human! She may sleep a lot but she loves to go for a walk and will follow you with her beautiful eyes. If you’re looking for a wonderful companion, you don’t need to go any farther.
