Charming Colby brings boundless cheer to everyone she meets.
The various places Colby and Mary visit are schools, libraries, an airport and an assisted living, memory care facility. They also attend special events at Amazon, visit veterans at an Honor Flight program and attend conferences for widows and for children with arthritis. While Colby enjoys any visit that includes pets and belly rubs, Mary loves visiting the elderly, especially veterans. They have such amazing stories and many of them love on Colby while sharing their past.
The team’s monthly visits to an assisted living facility, where Mary chats with Bob, a gentleman in a wheelchair, are Mary’s most memorable. Bob brightens up when he sees Colby because he had to give up his own Golden Retriever, Cooper, when he had a stroke. Mary readily admits that her heart is always full when they visit him because she knows that Colby has made his day.
At home, Colby is a fanatic when it comes to swimming, fetching tennis balls and a Frisbee. Her morning routine includes dropping the Frisbee at her mom’s feet and looking at the door. And cuddly Colby loves to snuggle, often jumping on the couch and plopping down with her head on Mary’s lap. This is followed by a big sigh!
According to Mary, Colby is just a love and quite famous in their neighborhood. Many people see her on their lanai as they walk on the walk path, and are gaily greeted by a wagging tail. An elderly couple always makes a point of stopping and talking to her.
As for Colby and Mary’s future: Mary intends to keep sharing her sweet girl and spreading the word about what these wonderful dogs do for people.
