This cutie pie was brought to GRRMF after her exuberance and energy became too much for her owners.

Blue was very anxious when she arrived at her foster home and insisted on staying by her foster parents’ sides. She slept in her crate in the bedroom. She will lurch at dogs, cats and squirrels on walks; it’s her way of saying hi! She is great with kids and other animals, like dogs and cats.

Blue is a very active pup who loves to play with her squeaky toys, run in the backyard on her leash, and go on walks around the neighborhood. She enjoys having her belly rubbed and you will know when she is feeling excited and playful because her left ear will stick up! Her foster parents have gradually been letting her roam around the house while they’re there. However, her puppy energy is best left contained when she is left alone and at night, so she goes in her crate. She does tend to get nervous when she sees things blowing in the wind, hears loud noises, or sees her shadow. With love and patience, though, these things should get better with time. She absolutely loves to be wherever her humans are!

Blue is a very healthy girl and has a vet visit scheduled to get her vaccines. She is housebroken and crate trained, and she responds well to the ‘no’ command when she gets a little too excited to say hi and jumps on others. Sit and giving her paw are other commands that she has learned. Just reach for her paw and say ‘paw,’ and you’ll get a handshake! She is a slow eater and usually returns to her bowl a few hours later to finish her meal. She is getting better with her energy and nervousness and her foster dad says she is starting to calm and settle down. If you put in the work and patience, this girl is sure to reward you with her love!

Blue would do best with an active and patient person or family who can match her energy level. If you feel that you are the one(s) to take her in, get your application in today!
