Bear is one of the ‘sweet six:’ a group of adult golden retrievers rescued together from one home. Sadly, their owner passed away leaving the dogs neglected and almost abandoned when GRRMF rescued them.
Don’t let Bear’s color fool you, he is a golden retriever mix. Although he’s name is somewhat looming, his personality is far from it. In fact teddy bear would be a better name for him. This is one super sweet and loving dog.
His foster family says Bear loves to be groomed and going for rides in the car. Brush or pet him and he’ll sit still for a long time soaking up the attention. Bear also looks forward to his walks and is friendly to other dogs he meets. Bear would do very well in a home with dogs. He’s just a mellow and tender pooch.
Bear is not clingy. He does like to know where his foster mom and dad are in the house though. He is crate trained, but doesn’t really need it. Bear knows some commands like sit and is now coming when called by name.
Even with all Bear has been through, he’s still got a lot of life and energy in him. Bear is probably at the easiest age, he’s active and playful, but not clumsy and crazy like a puppy. Bear’s mature and loving nature is perfect for a family looking for a real life cuddly teddy bear?
