Ava Stacey #3666

Age: 6 years

Gender: Female

Breed: Golden Retriever

Weight: 48 lbs.

Status: Pending Adoption

Ava arrived in rescue when her previous owner could no longer take care of her. She was a bit shy at first but quickly warmed up to her new foster family and enjoyed exploring their yard and hanging out by the pool.

This adorable girl has a true Golden personality and an incredibly sweet disposition. She likes everyone she meets, and loves to cuddle and get tummy rubs. Her foster family describes her as a total snuggle bug! She likes to be at your side and follow you around.

A bad ear infection left Ava feeling down in the dumps for the first few days. Her infection is being treated with oral antibiotics, and now that she’s starting to feel better she’s having fun chasing lizards in the backyard. She also enjoys going for rides in the car. She gets along well with the other dog in her foster home, and she loves being around kids because it means more love and affection! When she’s feeling playful, she rolls around on the carpet, scratching her back and making funny noises.

Ava is housebroken, isn’t phased at all by thunderstorms, and already knows several commands. She understands “sit”, “stay”, “come”, and “down”. She tugs a little on the leash when out for a walk, but her foster family is working with her to teach her great leash manners. She behaves well when you’re giving her a bath and is very happy to have a warm blanket to curl up on afterward. When she arrived in the rescue, Ava was underweight. She gets excited to see food at mealtimes, so she’s learning how to sit and wait before diving right into her food bowl. Thanks to the wonderful care she’s receiving, she has already gained 2 lbs and is working her way up to healthy weight.

This sweet bundle of love has a gentleness about her and would bring joy to any family. Do you have room in your heart and home for this snuggle bug?
