JoAnn loves visiting Sabal Palms Assisted Living, Memory Care Unit because she finds it exceptionally heartwarming to see the enormous joy petite Angel brings to the patients. She also loves participating with Angel in Palm Coast Public Library’s “Paws to Read” Program, listening to the children read and witnessing their continuous improvement.
Angel LOVES to practice her commands since she thoroughly enjoys treats! Among them are guessing which of her mom’s hands is holding the treat, sitting, lying down, speaking, giving her paw, sleeping and heeling. Ever the teasing imp, Angel also loves chasing a ball down the hallway, bringing it back to her mom, and running off as soon as she reaches for it. Then she’ll return and drop the ball at her mom’s feet.
JoAnn’s faithful shadow, Angel follows her everywhere, despite the MANY steps in their house. Should JoAnn go downstairs and back up again, Angel will sit at the bottom and bark until she’s invited up to join her. She even sits with her mom each morning while she meditates.
On their long morning walks through the neighborhood, Angel enjoys meeting their neighbors’ dogs – but she has two favorites. Despite being only nine pounds, her best friends are a golden retriever and an Australian sheep dog. She LOVES big dogs! She also loves playing “doggy in the middle” with her mom’s two grandsons when they visit. What delights JoAnn most, though, is the sweet sight of Angel lying between her grandsons on the floor, with an arm of each draped over her.
Now this dedicated team looks forward to visiting more assisted living facilities as well as visiting children in schools or hospitals.
