Meet Luke, a handsome boy with a heart as big as his smile. This playful love bug adores kids of all ages and is wonderfully gentle with children in elementary and high school. Luke blends beautifully into a home with other dogs—he currently lives with both a puppy and an older dog and loves tug-of-war, chase, and anything that involves fun. He’s also been friendly and calm around cats during his vacation foster stay. True to his golden nature, Luke is affectionate, loyal, and a bit of a Velcro dog—he’ll follow you from room to room, curl up beside you on the couch, and happily accept every pet and belly rub he can get. He walks well on a leash, enjoys car rides and grooming, and proudly carries his beloved stuffies or a stick he finds on his walks.

Still very much a puppy at heart, Luke is full of joyful energy and enthusiasm for life. He loves playing fetch, chewing on bones and peanut-butter-filled Kongs, and exploring the world around him. He’s house-trained, crate-trained (still learning to love the crate with the help of treats), and knows several commands—sit, lay down, and stay—while continuing to work on polite greetings and keeping all four paws on the floor. Luke is curious but occasionally cautious with new things, and a bit of gentle reassurance goes a long way. With his beautiful red coat, sweet nature, and eagerness to please, Luke is ready to become the devoted companion of a family who will enjoy his goofy charm, loyal spirit, and endless capacity for love.
