Dante Adrian #4313

Dante Adrian #4313

Age: 14 years

Gender: Male

Breed: Golden Retriever

Status: Sanctuary

Update: December 21, 2024

With puppylike pep in his step, Dante definitely doesn’t know that he’s 14 years old!

No sooner had this sweet, smiling senior settled into his new foster home than he merrily morphed into a “velcro” dog, following his foster mom everywhere she goes, whether it’s inside or outside in the yard. To say that he LOVES playing fetch with his ball is putting it mildly. In fact, he runs after it, expertly catches it in his mouth, and only releases it when he’s ready for it to be thrown again.

Happy, easygoing and extremely loving, Dante adores belly rubs and being groomed, gets along wonderfully with his new fur sisters, Macie Rose, a Shitzu-Maltese and Willow Joy, a miniature Goldendoodle, and eagerly greets visitors, welcoming them into the house. Excellent with his fosters’ grandchildren (they love playing ball with him), he especially enjoys playing with toys, going for walks and taking rides in the car.

Fond of carrots and apples and blessed with a hearty appetite, he never balks at taking his medications, and it didn’t take him long to discover where in the night stand the “Nite Nite” treats are kept! Never shy about letting his fosters know when it’s time for bed, Dante loves lying by their bed in the new doggy bed they bought him.

On Thanksgiving, he watched the Macy’s Day Parade with his family, reveled in the red sweater he received for cooler weather, and will be celebrated Christmas Day morning with many generous gifts from Santa.

Our deserving Dante has found his forever home with GRRMF.  Due to his special lifelong needs GRRMF elected to enter Dante into our Sanctuary program.  Dante will live the rest of his days with a very special GRRMF foster family selected just for him. Dante’s new family will make every day count, showering him with love and providing any necessary special care Dante will need.

Read more about how wonderful Dante is-he will be very loved by GRRMF.

A golden, senior sweetheart. Three words that perfectly describe this gentleman, named Dante.

At a young, 14-years-old and weighing 60-pounds, Dante fit right in with his GRRMF foster family. His fosters say Dante loves being around humans and going on walks. He doesn’t pull and allows you to put on his harness in a snap. Dante enjoys car rides, cuddles, and being groomed too. He’s a big fan of hard chews toys as well. His favorite past time though is definitely playing outside. It’s like he missed the memo that says he isn’t a puppy anymore!

Dante is easy-going and gets along well with new animals, people, and places. Although he is not hearing as sharply as he once did, his fosters say he can definitely hear the words ‘treat’ and ‘outside.’

Dante is crate trained but doesn’t need it. This good boy is happy just to hang out throughout the day and overnight without being crated. He’s not a fan of thunderstorms and will pace around until you help him settle.
