Seldom seen without his trademark bandana proudly declaring “YOU HAD ME AT WOOF,” Bailey remains as bright-eyed and big-hearted as ever.
Always beaming, always beguiling, he’s still the most loyal and mellow of “Velcro” dogs, always lying companionably close to his foster mom and then following after her like a faithful golden shadow everywhere she goes. Still happiest being where his people are, he remains very gentle and loving to the company they receive – for which he receives plentiful praise and pets of appreciation in return.
While he may not indulge himself in the pleasure of playing with toys, what he does indulge in are treats! Oh, how Bailey loves his treat time! Ever the gentleman, gracious and gallant, he never pushes his way out the door or anywhere else, and if he wore a top hat, he would most assuredly tip it politely to one and all.
Still favoring walks as his form of exercise, he’s still enamored of taking rides in the car and going on camping trips about once a month, especially now when the weather is cool.

Bailey continues to enjoy his position as king of the castle in his foster home, where his foster 
parents love him to pieces. Bailey is a major cuddler who enjoys hanging out with mom in the office. Occasionally he politely requests a treat with a gentle nudge to her hand. He’s not much for playing with toys, preferring to snuggle in for a nice nap instead. But at mealtime, he’s a dynamo, dancing happily until his food is served, earning him the name Sir Prancy Pants.
Like many senior dogs, Bailey appreciates consistency in his environment. New objects in his environment might worry him, but as long as things stay where they belong, he’s happy and confident.
One of Bailey’s favorite things is a camping trip. As soon as mom puts on his bandana, he knows it’s traveling time, and he’s ready to roll. And what a great passenger he is in the car.
A total gentleman in the house, he never jumps on 
the furniture, and although he has dog beds available, he prefers the coolness of the wood or tile floors. Treats, you say? Oh yes please and keep them coming. But when mom says, “Go lay down,” he readily complies. Besides treats and camping trips, Bailey’s favorite things are head scratches and belly rubs. Brushing gets four paws up, but nail trims are a hard no thanks.
This sweet, lovable fellow is safe and loved and will live out his days in the security of his foster home. We are grateful for your donations which allow us to provide lifetime medical care for sweet dogs like Bailey.

Barkley, now known as Bailey, is an original GRRMF alumni. He was lovingly adopted in 2011 
by one of our beloved volunteers who sadly passed away last month. Due to his advanced age and medical issues, GRRMF has placed him in our Sanctuary program. Bailey will live the rest of his life with a very special GRRMF foster family who will love and care for all his needs.
Bailey has already been affectionately named “Bailey Biscuit” because he loves his homemade biscuit that his new mom makes. He’s a very affectionate guy who follows his mom and dad wherever they go – he truly loves his humans! In fact, his mom says he thinks he’s a lapdog, when he isn’t snuggling next to her on her lap he is sitting up in front of her with his paws on her legs.
This sweet boy has already taken his first camping trip with his new family. He wasn’t crazy about the long car ride or the metal steps on the camper but he loved hanging out at the fire pit where he was petted and admired. Bailey loves walks and has claimed the large soft ball and a football as his special toys. Not being a fan of loud noises, Bailey can live without the squeakers and the metal food bowl that has now been switched to a porcelain bowl for this king of the house.
Being the only dog in the household is working out fine for Bailey; he gets lots of attention from his sweet mom and he adores his dad. His favorite place to sleep if on the floor next to dad where he sleeps through the night and is “up and at ‘em,” ready to go in the morning. 
Who would have known that this adorable, well behaved dog would start his journey at GRRMF and come full circle to live the rest of his life with a committed and loving GRRMF family. His mom has already been hard at work embroidering a bandanna that says, “You had me at WOOF!”
