Meet Jasmine Dale, a big, beautiful golden who was lovingly surrendered because of family health issues. She’s well-behaved and gentle – especially good traits in a large dog! Miss Jasmine settled into her foster home quickly, and was relaxed with her new family. She’s house-broken and is trusted with full reign of the house – no need for a crate. Jasmine is good with chickens and squirrels, we don’t know about cats, but she definitely prefers to be the only dog. She’s an avid lizard chaser and loves being out on the patio.
Jasmine is great with kids, and was very gentle with a 3-year old little girl who came to her foster family’s home for a visit. They played and ran around the yard. When the girl would stop running, Jasmine just sat next to her, waiting to start again. Jasmine will play fetch for a little while, but isn’t much into dog toys. She loves to be with people – definitely a Velcro girl.
Friendly and affectionate Jasmine pulls on the leash quite a bit, especially if she sees someone new to meet. With her size, Jasmine requires a strong leash handler until she masters better leash skills. She’s working with her foster parents on that daily. Jasmine knows the “sit” command very well, and does not jump on furniture. She will jump into bed with you, but immediately gets down if asked. If not in bed with you, she will sleep in your room and patiently wait to get up until she sees you get up.
Jasmine does not bark at other dogs, even when they bark at her. Jasmine is very gentle when taking treats and loves to be petted. She is ladylike in so many ways. Her fun side shows up as she drinks from her water bowl! She’s a little on the messy side but we think that it’s her way of expressing that retriever’s love of the water. She obviously understands staying hydrated is a good thing!
Jasmine is so pretty and, yet, so very strong. Her sweet, gentle and affectionate nature will melt your heart. Is there a place in your family for her?
