Love and Hugs – Glenda
Catch this playful pup in action and having a blast with her foster sister. (Click on Catch Me if You Can)! Glenda is a high energy pup or mellow – she goes both ways. Her foster mom says she can roll at 150 miles per hour and is curious about everything! It is not that she is anxious but that she does not want play time to stop.
Her sweet side comes shining through each morning when she wakes up and stands on the side of the bed and gives her foster parents small kisses on their faces and then lays her neck on top of their necks. During the day she checks in with her parents several times to be hugged and petted.
Glenda has her paws crossed and is hoping and dreaming of having a playmate in her for always home, to show her the ropes and have lots of fun with each day.
This adorable golden blend bouncing baby girl came to GRRMF all the way from Louisiana and is a southern charmer.
Upon arrival, Glenda met her two foster sibling cats and then proceeded to bound out into the back yard to explore. Within two hours she was all dressed up and ready to go to the neighbors house to meet her canine and human neighbors at a fun filled neighborhood barbecue! She made several new pals and fit right in. When it was finally over, she went into her crate back at her new foster home and fell sound asleep! What a great first day! Ever since then, this sweet ball of energy has explored every inch of her foster home and is happy to experience everything. A favorite activity for her is to find her foster family members several times each day for reassuring hugs.
From grooming sessions to belly rubs to car rides to walks, this constantly in motion girl is determined to live life to it’s fullest. After her first car ride, with a boost in from her foster dad, she now hops in like it’s second nature. But like a true southern belle, she does not want to get her hair messed up so she sits on the seat and looks out but does not put her head out of the window.
Glenda is very good with cats and wants to be friends with them. She is very fast and appears to be skipping as she runs around the yard. When her foster dad is bending over weeding she goes right between his legs to have him pet her. It turns out she is a ball chaser and she carries “her” newly acquired racquetball everywhere she goes! This girl just loves to be in the kitchen but then again who doesn’t? She is now trained to automatically sits for food or treats.
She is working on her manners, including leash walking, each day in preparation for being all she can be as GRRMF looks for her “fur”ever home. As a one year old, she is filled to the brim with puppy exuberance and that includes always on the lookout for food and assorted items which may not be hers but she finds interesting.
However, she is very eager to please and her foster family is training her to take what belongs to her and learn to leave the other things behind. She has full run of the house when her family is home and she is trying get a sense for what her space is which isn’t easy. It’s a puppy thing!
Glenda has a very loving and happy personality. She wants to be reassured. She is incredibly fast so her “fur”ever family will need to be mindful if she is chasing the ball. She is so eager to know where you are going that she walks in front of you, as she tries to anticipate which direction you are going next. Her foster mom reports that you have to be aware and stay one step ahead of her until Glenda gets more comfortable with the routine!
To have a doggie sibling that could show her the ropes and is up for fun and adventure would be a dream come true for this girl! It is important for Glenda to have a home where her family will have of plenty of time to play with her and guide her, in order to channel all that energy and love. A stay at home family will to continue the training and structure that a puppy needs to be all that she can be, would be ideal.
For this sweet girl, there’s no place like home! Will it be yours?
