Yeti Monroe’s Success Story

Yeti Monroe’s Success Story

Yeti is a very lovable rescue pup. As his family fondly recalls on Yeti’s adoption day, “we were so excited to officially be able to call Yeti ours! He was the sweetest dog during the foster period and there was no way we were going to be able to give him up.” He loves to cuddle on the couch with his family or lay by their feet while they work. He’s also so gentle that he never rips up any of his toys.

And Yeti loves his toys. He is so enamored of his lamby that he actually has two of them so that he can always easily find one. He also loves any type of ball that he can play fetch with—he has perfected this as an inside activity as well! Yeti’s favorite thing is when his Dad comes home from work and throws the ball across the living room for him to fetch- like most golden retrievers, he can play this game for hours.

Another game that Yeti never tires of is chasing small waves at the beach. Although Yeti is not yet an enthusiastic swimmer, his favorite place is the St. Pete dog beach where he can run in the shallow water with the other dogs. Yeti’s beach experiences have also included St Augustine Beach, where his parents took him for a friend’s wedding. Yeti quickly adapted to the larger waves on the East Coast, and his happy antics quickly endeared him to all. His family laughs that it was Yeti’s best day ever (and hopefully the bride and groom’s as well!).

Yeti loves the outdoors. He gets so excited to go on his walks that he runs in circles or grabs a toy. He prefers to walk himself by biting the leash and holding onto it for the first couple minutes. His favorite part of his walks is seeing his neighborhood dog friends, that is, every dog he meets. Yeti is so outgoing and friendly that he excitedly runs up to them to say hi.

Another one of Yeti’s traits is his keen intelligence. Yeti’s lucky family notes that he never eats anything he shouldn’t and are impressed by Yeti’s quick responses to the sit, stay, down, and paw commands. He is so well-behaved and has great house manners. When he has to go outside, he comes up to his family and wags his tail incessantly. If that hint doesn’t seem to work, he’ll move on to nudging with his nose. How cute is that?

Yeti has found his best home and family. His family happily takes him on as many outings as possible because they know how much he appreciates the walks and beach excursions. As his family says, “he is a perfect dog and are so happy he’s ours!!!!”
