Pumpkin Alford’s Success Story

Pumpkin Alford’s Success Story

Pumpkin is one of the Sweet Six that were rescued by GRRMF last year when their owner passed away.  Pumpkin, his father and siblings were about to be abandoned or euthanized before GRRMF came to their rescue.  All of the dogs had multiple health issues, Pumpkin not only suffered from severe ear and skin infections but also other medical problems that needed to be treated.

His foster mom affectionately renamed him Pumpkin Patch, for all the fur he was missing from his skin allergies.  Despite all the loving care from his foster mom and medical professionals, Pumpkin’s left ear was not healing properly and he underwent a full removal of his ear canal and ear drum.

Pumpkin has been through a lot, but love does conquer all and love is what he found.  Kim, his foster mom, fell in love with this gentle giant, who is mellow, well behaved and has the sweetest soul ever. Pumpkin was adopted and has found his forever home with his foster family.

He still needs follow up treatments for his ears and skin, but he is one happy boy.

This kind soul spends his days taking morning walks, playing ball and frisbee – which he prefers prancing around with instead of giving it to mom.  He sure is a lucky dog who has bed privileges, window watching, doggy rides, and lots of hugs and kisses (he could live without the kisses, but they are starting to grow on him).  Pumpkin is an obedient and loving companion who knows sit, stay and come when called, not to mention he’s a great cuddler!
