Putting the “g” into gregarious, George swept his awestruck adopters off their feet from the moment they met!
His parents were extremely excited about bringing George home with them, not only because he was meeting Emma, their other GRMMF rescued golden retriever, but their two cats Snow and Storm.
Filling their home with boundless joy, George is a combination of high-energy and the epitome of a “velcro” dog. Everywhere his parents go, George goes! What then, makes George so special? He’s very intuitive and caring. He can tell when someone is sad and he does his best to make that person feel better. He’s extremely funny. Whether he has a toy between his front paws and is upside down on his back smiling with it, picking up toys from the yard and throwing them up in the air with his paws to play, or chasing lizards. And he’s remarkably kind. He’s never met a human or dog where he wasn’t wagging his tail wanting to be petted or to play a game.
George’s favorite thing to do is go in the pool and chase balls, and to say he LOVES balls and stuffed animals is an understatement. Even if he’s out on a walk and some children are playing with any type of ball (basketball, tennis ball or baseball), he thinks he MUST play with that ball!
On monthly Librela injections for his arthritis and back leg pain, they work wonders for him and keep the pain under control, allowing him to do what makes him happiest and keep his parents in stitches!
Case in point: George is an avid lizard hunter. His parents have figured out that he doesn’t want to kill them, he just wants to play with them. When they go on walks, he has to stop at certain mailbox posts and sniff around to see if a lizard is there. He can absolutely smell them! The second he sees one, his ears perk up and his tail wags back and forth violently! His parents have the privilege of watching this behavior daily.
