Max is wise beyond his years. He may still be a youngster, but he has the calm demeanor of a much more mature dog. His foster mom says, “Max shows a lot of self-control and hasn’t jumped on us even when he’s excited.” Now, that doesn’t mean that Max doesn’t like to play. He’s full of energy and life and always wants to be near his humans.
We believe Max is a golden retriever/Australian shepherd mix. Australian shepherds or Aussies, are well known to be super smart, devoted and have high energy. Just like goldens, they make wonderful pets and are great with children. Max is no exception. He gets along well with his foster family’s kids and other pets.
A true Velcro pup, Max loves snuggling up with his people; his happy place is firmly cuddled in their lap! And that’s good because Max is shy and needs extra reassurance that everything is okay.
Max is housebroken, walks well on a leash, and doesn’t seem to need a crate. He was never taught but any commands so his next family will have to teach him the ways of the doggie world. That really shouldn’t be too difficult because he’s a pretty smart pooch.
