Make room on the couch because Lexi is ready to curl up and snuggle with her new family!
Lexi is a sweet young golden who is happiest when she is surrounded by people of all ages. She is living with a foster family who has pre-teen children and she has been having the time of her life. She was the star of the show at a kid’s birthday party and jumped with excitement when she got to meet so many new friends. She is staying with one other dog, and although their first meeting was a little stressful for her, by the end of the day they were best buddies. At first, Lexi is a bit timid and can be somewhat reactive around other large dogs. She just needs a little patience and slow introductions when she meets dogs at home or in the neighborhood.
Lexi follows her foster family from room to room so she is looking for a home where she can shadow her people everywhere they go. Her foster mom says she can often be found leaning against her legs while she is cooking. Lexi is super affectionate and will put her head in your lap or give you her paw so you can hold hands. Throw in a belly rub and she is just the happiest girl!
Lexi loves to play with toys, but she is a super chewer. Make sure to fill the toy box with things that are a bit more durable instead of soft stuffed toys or you will spend your days cleaning up stuffing all over the house. She is housebroken and is crate trained, but only goes in her crate when her foster family isn’t home.
Lexi knows commands like sit and stay, but if you leave the room, she thinks that means stay by your side. Remember, she wants to follow her people everywhere! She is good on the leash and is curious about the squirrels she sees on her walks, but she doesn’t try to run and chase them.
You are in for a lifetime of cuddles and snuggles with the lovable Lexi!
