Update on July 31, 2021  King is doing royally!  He just finished his last two treatments and will be reevaluated at the end of August.  Hopefully, all will be well with his handsome young man and he’ll be ready to share all his love and attention with a very lucky family!Update on Jun 29, 2021It’s amazing what tender care and expert medical treatment can achieve.  King’s true personality is now showing, and he is a total lover!  He wants to be right by his foster parents either laying on their feet or nudging them for much loved petting and affection!Update on June 15, 2021

King is regaining his regal vigor!  Turns out he’s a strong squirrel chaser too.  According to his foster, “His energy level is increasing, and we are just now beginning to see him awake into a frisky 3-year-old!”  Stay tuned for more updates on this beautiful boy.

King may not look like royalty yet, but he’s getting there.  Scared, slightly depressed, diagnosed with heart-worm and malnourished, it took King’s foster dad some time to see his true personality shine through.  He says, “From the moment this beautiful lab looks into your eyes, he will draw you in with his love and affection.”

King loves his humans and always wants to be with them.  He will cuddle up at your feet and walk right beside you – literally! Very mellow and calm, King is not interested in chasing lizards or squirrels.  He’s good on a leash and is friendly to both four and two legged neighbors but doesn’t like it when other dogs bark at him.

King is housebroken and doesn’t need a crate.  He knows some commands and is learning more.  He gets very excited going places and exploring the world.  The problem is getting him to leave.  King’s foster dad is working with him and says, “We’re helping him cope with leaving places so he’ll be the perfect companion for you and your family.”

With some TLC from his foster family and expert medical care provided by GRRMF, King will soon regain his regal stature.  Could this royal highness be the missing member in your family’s kingdom?

Caught early, heart-worm can be treated, but it is a lengthy and expensive process.  Any donations to help pay for some of King’s medical expenses would be greatly appreciated.
