Update: November 26, 2023
Jean-Paul, affectionally known as JP by his foster family, has been working on building his skills so he can find his forever home soon. Besides being adorable, he is walking well on a leash, comes when called, is working on sit and is a good listener.
Jean-Paul is a high-energy pup that likes to keep himself in physical shape, he enjoys two nice walks a day, playtime with his foster-bro, Walter and plenty of chew toys to keep him busy. Once he is tuckered out, he will follow his people around and settle nicely at their feet.
Gaining more confidence every day, Jean-Paul has met a number of dogs in the neighborhood; sometimes he’s a little shy and sometimes brave and playful. He also met a two year old child and did well but he is an energetic pup that still displays some puppy silliness that might be a little too rough for a young child. Jean-Paul is an avid squirrel hunter and small animals are his prey, supervision around wildlife and small domestic animals is necessary so that he can be taught to share his world with other living creatures.
Jean-Paul loves being around his people and will let them know with his healthy bark when there are noises that are not familiar to him. This sweet boy would do well in a home where his family is around often enough to give him the attention, training and love he needs at his young age. With patient training, that all pups need, Jean-Paul will make an awesome addition to a loving and active family. Won’t you let this sweet boy join in the fun with you?
Jean-Paul, one of The Louisiana Bayou Boys. He and his three brothers came to GRRMF looking for a loving, fun, forever home. Described by his foster family as being an “amazing snuggler” and “total sweetheart,” it’s easy to see how this young pup could steal your heart and make you smile all day.
Jean-Paul is total puppy, he enjoys romping with the two Bernese Mountain dogs, wading in the pool, and playing with the three sweet girls, (ages 8-13) at his foster home. Belly rubs, playing with his toys, and walks are also a joy for this young lad.
Jean-Paul hasn’t met any cats yet and he does have a fondness for chasing bunnies. He loves children but would do best with older children due to his own youthful nature and energy. He isn’t a fan of the crate but since he is a pup who is still learning appropriate behaviors and routines he accepts his current housing conditions when his foster family goes out and hopes to get free-range privileges soon.
Training and basic manners are a must for a young pup and Jean-Paul is no exception. His foster family is doing a great job on monitoring his potty routine and introducing leash walking, come, and down. His energetic youth adds a bit of jumping and mouthiness to his play routine but with patience and proper guidance he can be easily introduced to correct behaviors. Jean-Paul’s attention and his beautiful eyes will always be on you – along with a few treats and a “good boy” you will be his hearts desire.
So, what do ya say? Will you put down the fiddle and put down the bow, kick off your shoes and toss ‘em on the floor – “play with this pup in the kitchen ’til the mournin’ light” and snuggle with a sweet Louisiana Bayou Boy all night? He’s a real lover boy and will be your best friend for life.
