To be eligible to adopt Jace, you must be an approved adopter of GRRMF. If you are already on our approved adopter waiting list, an adoption coordinator will contact you if you are matched to meet this pup’s needs. Visit our How to Adopt page to review our process, policies and application.  Please pay special attention to the sections on puppy facts, children and dogs and fences on our website prior to submitting an application for a puppy.“Where You At Ya Pesky LiL Wizard,” Jace is like Elmer Fudd as he gleefully hunts for lizards and anything else that is moving.  He really is curious about them but his foster family is giving him the proper guidance to teach him respect for other animals. Jace is learning the word “NO” when it comes to hunting wildlife but it’s just so much fun for this young energetic lad!

Jace came to GRRMF looking for a family that will love him and have the time and patience to teach him all the right behaviors and commands to make him the best dog ever!  Unfortunately, Jace will have to wait awhile for his dream to come true; he was diagnosed with heart worm and will have to undergo treatment for a four month period.  It will be necessary for Jace to have limited activity during his treatment which includes medications, a series of shots, bloodwork, tests and follow up visits with his veterinarian. That’s a tall order for a young dog but Jace will busy himself with the things he loves. Playing with his toys, belly rubs, nose rubs and snuggling with his foster parents are at the top of his list.

Jace loves being near his humans; inside or outside, he is right by their side. His foster mom says, “He’s clingy and likes to be near you. Even when he plays with his toys or is in his crate he wants to see you or be next to you.”  He does well going into his crate and hasn’t exhibited any barking, growling, chewing or digging.  His foster mom reports that he will whine in his crate if he can’t see you and is very grateful when he is let out; he very gently puts his paws up on you and gives you a hug.

Although he hasn’t yet been introduced to other dogs or young children, he enjoys chilling out with the 18 year old son of his foster parents. Jace has discovered the family cat and wants to play with him.  He gets so excited when he sees the cat but the invitation to play hasn’t been reciprocated by the kitty – she would rather not be bothered.

Jace is described by his foster mom as a well behaved, sweet young dog that wants to play with other animals, snuggle with his people and be recognized with love and affection.  With the support of our donors, professionals and volunteers, Jace will soon be well and ready to find his forever home.  If you’re looking for a snuggle bug, this boy will fill the order and would be your playful, loving companion for life.
