LOVER BOY! That’s what you would say to describe this big guy with the soft brown eyes and 
nose that will lift your arm up with gentle nudges to remind you to pet and love him. Henk is a great snuggle bug who also enjoys playing with his fur foster brother and other dogs. He doesn’t mind having his alone time, but he really likes being with his people and will follow them around, especially when he is the only dog in the house.
Watch out food network, this boy will be homing in on the latest dog treats and meals; he’s a real foodie, who will do anything for a treat! When Henk isn’t looking for love in all the great places or trying to get a special treat, he relishes belly rubs, car rides, playing with toys, playing ball, walks and a good grooming party. Henk’s favorite things to do are cruising in the car and playing ball but he also thinks keep away is a fun game and will try to engage you in chasing him for the prized ball. He sure does sound like an all-around young pup who likes to have fun!
With the help of our GRRMF training partners, Henk is getting some assistance on his leash 
walking skills. His dedicated foster mom is keeping up on improving his skills for walking nicely on leash, as well as sit, stay, down and place. Henk hasn’t met any children yet and although he would probably do fine with them, he is a very strong dog that might do better in a family without children or with children that are older. Cats haven’t been introduced and should be done appropriately with great care and patience. Henk hasn’t shown interest in the lizards but does enjoy watching the sea birds (no chasing has been reported).
His biggest fear is the ear cleaning medication he is currently on, but he is starting to concede to this necessary procedure and is settling in nicely at his foster home. Henk is house trained, and crate trained but his foster family reports that he doesn’t need to be crated and they have trusted him in their home.
Henk is a curious young dog that needs a family that will continue to work with him on basic manners (leash walking, etc.) and will be loving and patience as he matures into the wonderful dog, he will be for the people he loves.
