Dodger Jag #3592

Dodger Jag #3592

Age: 4 years

Gender: Male

Breed: Golden Retriever

Weight: 88 lbs.

Status: Not Ready For Adoption

Meet Dodger, our newest youngster who is somewhat mellow and filled with love.

To be eligible to adopt Dodger, you must be an approved adopter of GRRMF.  Visit our How to Adopt page to review our process, policies and application.  Please pay special attention to the sections on puppy facts, children and dogs and fences on our website prior to submitting an application for a puppy.  If you are already on our approved adopter waiting list, you will be contacted by an adoption coordinator if you are matched to meet this pup’s needs.

This precious boy was surrendered to GRRMF because of his behavior around food.

Dodger is mostly low maintenance, but he did get into something he shouldn’t have and had to be rushed to the ER!  Of course it was the weekend, but GRRMF always steps up to provide their pups the best.  Can you step up and help replenish our medical fund?

He is fine but the expenses were high and they can’t be conquered alone. He also has bumps on his skin that were discovered during a vet visit and they have been sent to a lab for evaluation. He is also being treated for a skin infection. Despite these challenges, Dodger couldn’t be more loving and he is just waiting for someone to take a chance on him.

Dodger is super affectionate and he loves belly rubs and hanging out with his foster family. He enjoys sitting out on the patio with them and soaking up the cool breezes! He loves playing with his bones and toys, particularly a goose that he received as a gift from his foster parents. He is a gentle and easygoing type of golden and does not enjoy roughhousing. He prefers to just relax and soak up the same loving that he gives out! In fact, he prefers having his humans close by so that he can take advantage of all that affection!

As with some of our dogs that are surrendered, Dodger was nervous and skittish when he first arrived at his foster home.  He has warmed up with time and he is fine around other dogs and his foster parents but is just not comfortable with children.

Dodger is a good boy and he knows the sign for sit, as well as his name. He is house broken but needs to go outside every few hours to do his business. He knows better than to chew on things and so far has not gotten into the trash. He has a crate but prefers to be closer to his humans, using the couch or a nice, cool floor! Whatever issues he had with food seem to be better, as he doesn’t mind his foster parents coming closer to him while he eats now that he knows them. Although walks aren’t his favorite yet, he is working on that with his foster parents and continues to improve!  He is happy to jump in the car and go for a ride!

This loving and gentle sweetheart will give you lots of love if open your heart to give him his forever home.  But first, he needs YOUR help to get his medical bills paid and allow him to carry on with his life in the loving manner that only Dodger Jag can. Please consider donating today!
